Meet Our Dentists

James H. Wells, D.D.S. Dr. Wells grew up in Wabash Indiana on a dairy farm.  He graduated from Wabash High School in 1970. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1974. He graduated from Indiana University Dental School where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1978. Dr Wells began his career as a dentist in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina prior to moving to Mount Airy.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society and the American Orthodontics Society. Dr. Wells enjoys making people smile and loves his career as a dentist.  He says, “There is no better fulfillment in life than to love what you do”.  He enjoys cooking, collecting antiques, gardening and playing with his Dalmatian Dog.

Phillip B. Brintle, D.D.S. Dr. Brintle grew up in Mount Airy and graduated from North Surry High School in 1970. He served in the Air Force as a dental technician in San Antonio, Texas, where he was stationed. He graduated from Guilford College with a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1978. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1984. After graduating, Dr. Brintle re-enlisted in the Air Force and was once again stationed in San Antonio, where he worked as a dental officer for four years.  He spent a total of 20 years in the Air Force and was stationed several places around the world, including Japan, Korea, South Carolina and Virginia.  Dr. Brintle retired from the Air Force in 2001 and moved back to North Carolina where he has always considered home.   Dr. Brintle enjoys gardening, playing the piano, cooking and spoiling his grandchildren.  Copyright 2008 Mount Airy Dentists  :::  info@mountairydentist.com
