Dr. Wells grew up in Wabash Indiana on a dairy farm. Hegraduated from Wabash High School in 1970. He graduated from Indiana Universitywith a bachelor's degree in biology in 1974. He graduated from IndianaUniversity Dental School where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1978. DrWells began his career as a dentist in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina prior tomoving to Mount Airy. He is a member of the American Dental Association, theNorth Carolina Dental Society, the American Orthodontics Society and theInternational Congress of Oral Implantologists . Dr.Wells enjoys making people smile and loves his career as a dentist. He says,"There is no better fulfillment in life than to love what you do."

Brian Delehanty, D.D.S.

Dr. Delehanty graduated college magna cum laude receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Carolina. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

Dr. Delehanty specializes in using his training as a biomedical engineer to help patients rebuild their smile. He is orginally from Mount Holly, North Carolina where he grew up working on his family's horse farm. He is a fan of the Andy Griffith show and avid outdoorsman.

Phillip B. Brintle, D.D.S.

Dr Brintle was blessed at a young age to know he wanted to be a dentist. It took a while to achieve his goal after being drafted into the military during the Vietnam War. He first worked as a dental assistant for a dentist that encouraged him to keep his eye on his goal. After the war ended, Dr. Brintle was honorably discharged. He then completed his undergraduate degree at Guilford College. After working for a few years he graduated from UNC Dental School in Chapel Hill. After graduation, he again entered the air force serving tours in Texas, Okinawa, Virginia, South Carolina and South Korea. Major Brintle was honorably discharged for a second time.

After serving in the air force as a dentist for 20 years, it was time for Dr. Brintle to return to his hometown of Mount Airy where he had met Norma, his high school sweetheart. They married right after they graduated. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. They have been happily for 56 years.

Dr Brintle continued his dental career at James H. Wells, DDS, PA for 20 years until he retired for some medical maintenance. After two knee replacements and a hip replacement Dr Brintle feels better than ever! He decided he was not quite ready for full-time retirement. He is excited to return to his dentistry career that he dearly loves. 

William Brant Arnold, D.D.S.

Dr. Arnold is a 2008 graduate of UAB School of Dentistry in Birmingham AL and spent 5 years serving in the US Air Force Dental Corps. His time in the service garnered his extensive surgical experience and included a residency gaining him outstanding training in IV & oral sedation and oral surgical procedures. Dr. Arnold has been offering IV sedation to patients since 2008 and continues to provide this beneficial service to patients of this region. Dr. Arnold travels from Sparta, NC on selected days to perform Oral Surgery & IV Sedation Dentistry at our office.

Dr. Arnold has gained skill and proficiency in sedation and oral surgery as these areas have become his most rewarding to perform. His fervor for these treatments began early in his dental school training when he went on his first of three mission trips to Peru with the Christian Medical Ministry of Alabama. Organized and supported by local churches, he and other dentists-in-training on the mission team performed hundreds of extractions for people who had little or no access to routine dental care. Dr. Arnold continues to provide volunteer services to those in need, volunteering time when available at Healing Hands in Bristol, TN.

Brant is an avid outdoorsman and family man. He is married with 3 beautiful children. When out of the office he can be found in the woods or on the water, or with his young family staking out on an adventure.
